Lamu - Lamu Governor, Issa Timmamy has been set free after court said there was no enough evidence linking him with the June attacks that left over 100 people dead.
Timammy has been released on a cash bail of KES 5 million as police investigated him for forceful eviction of people, murder and terrorism related charges.

While delivering the ruling on Wednesday, Justice Martin Muya said there was no valid reason for the Prosecution to continue holding the Governor.
Speaking outside the court, Timammy welcomed the ruling saying that the court had upheld the rule of law and served the people of Lamu justice.
He however faulted the court for 'wasting time that would have been used in developing Lamu County'.
