"The message from Elgeyo-Marakwet County leaders, that is the Senator,Governor, all MPs, and MCAs is that our county is a referendum free zone. Habari ndio hiyo!" Murkomen said in an update on his Facebook page.
Elgeyo-Marakwet County now becomes the second county to ban referendum rallies after Nakuru.
Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua was under attack after he banned political rallies in the County saying that the referendum would tear the country apart at a time when reconciliation over the 2008 post-election violence was taking place.
