Kenya Red Cross society Nyeri branch on Thursday went to the streets requesting people to sign a chart indicating that they will uphold peace during and after Monday elections.
Branch chairperson Faith Maina said the move is to aimed at ensuring there will is unconditional peaceful coexistence among all people notwithstanding the election results which may be unfavorable to some aspirants and individuals’ expectorations.
Nobody can be secure in an insecure world
“We acknowledge that no community or individual can be secure in an insecure world. The values of non-violence in intention, thought and practice have now grown from an option to a necessity,” said Faith.

She said creating a culture of peace is necessary and noble to the country.
In her speech, Faith said Kenyan’s culture, history and individual lives are interconnected and their actions are independent, thus adjoining them together.
She further stated that adherence to values of non-violence will usher in a more peaceful and civilized community.
“This will enhance respect to human dignity effectively and the sanctity of life itself will become a reality,” she stated.
