Rangers FC Humbled By Ulinzi FC In KPL

16 May 2012, 10:48Steve Wambugu

Rangers FC on Monday night found themselves walking on lonely path after losing miserably 3 goals to nil against the Army side Ulinzi Stars at match which was played at their home ground Nyayo Stadium.

The three goals came courtesy of Evans Amwako who scored a brace while Stephen Ochollah sealed the deal with a superb one goal in the second half.

The home side Rangers begun the first half of the game with threatening balls flying all over into the Military side Ulinzi with Danson Kago almost scoring in the 6th minute after being able to out play the Ulinzi defence which for some minutes were a sleep.
But the visitors side Ulinzi quickly assembled their troops as in the 13th minute of the game Amwako sent shivers to the entire Rangers fans that had turned up for the game after he was able to collect a spilled ball that had hit rangers bar post after a solo efforts by Allan Muhati struck on the hosts side.

Rangers goalkeeper Allan Webo before he could assemble his men back to the game that had already started slipping off their hands, the military side returned in the 16th minute of the game with a thunderous ball after once again Evans Amwako was left unmarked inside the Rangers box sending a well crafted ball inside the home side’s nets.

In the second half of the game it was all an attack for the home side Rangers whose efforts almost bored fruits in the 52nd minute when Kago was able to wrestle his way into the military side overpowering the heavy man of the Armay side Jackstone  Odhiambo but only his shot wet out hitting the sides nets of the Rangers.

Ulinzi in the 60th minute took the tempore of the game a notch higher as they started dominating most of the balls with their normal ways of withholding balls living the vulnerable Rangers FC as lone Rangers in the pitch on a mission to know where.

But in the 75th of the game Stephen Ochollah produced a killer struck after receiving a low cutting edged ball from Kelvin Amwai who was able to send Allan Webo packing living the Rangers defence tarred apart with little to do in defending the ball.
And after the last whistle of the game the Military side had accomplished the mission of collecting the three vital points of the race in KPL. The win now lives Ulinzi in 7th position with 21 points.
