Raila's Rift Valley tour a waste of time and money: Duale
01 November 2015, 10:32
Nairobi - CORD leader Raila Odinga is set to visit the Rift Valley in the coming days but according to Majority Leader in Parliament Aden Duale, it is a waste of time.
The CORD leader will start his tour to the Rift which is Deputy President William Ruto's stronghold on Friday in Kericho County.
His aim will be to exonerate himself from the talk that he was to blame for Ruto's sending to the International Criminal Court ICC where he is facing Crimes Against Humanity charges.
But according to Duale, the trip is a waste of time and resources the CORD leader could put to use elsewhere.
" The trip is a waste of time and resources that the CORD leader could put to use elsewhere where he can get actual leverage," he told News24.
" They (People of Rift Valley) will welcome him with open arms as they always do but that is just about it. He can expect nothing else from there in terms of support or votes," he added.
Duale insists that Raila and other CORD leaders kn ow the role they played in the fixing of Ruto at the ICC.
" They know the role they played and instead of playing games should own up and agree that they were involved and maybe they will be forgiven by the people," he added.
Raila has been accused by Jubilee leaders of being the one behind the fixing and sending of Ruto to the ICC but the CORD leader has instead accused President Uhuru Kenyatta of being behind the fixing.
