Raila to share ODM cash with Kalonzo, Wetangula

Nairobi - ODM leader Raila Odinga says that the party will share the cash received from the government with its CORD coalition partners Wiper and Ford Kenya.
The announcement made Tuesday was significant as it showed Raila's insistence that the CORD coalition partners are equal bears credence.
The other two parties Wiper and Ford Kenya had missed out on political parties funding from the government as they did not meet the threshold set out by the constitution.
ODM has received just over KES 87 million from the government.
" We will share it equally as I said earlier and move forward with more important agendas currently on the table," Raila said Tuesday evening in Nairobi.

Only three parties have been deemed suitable to land the government cash, with The National Alliance TNA and United Republican Party URP together with ODM the other beneficiaries.
The smaller parties had lodged a court case to contest the division of funds which was unsuccessful.
Raila also said that the push for the Okoa Kenya Referendum campaign would now go full throttle with the return to the country of all three principles.
" We are close to completing the signature collection and verification process and from there we will hand them over to the IEBC," Raila added.
He also reiterated the confidence that he and the referendum partners have in the Okoa Kenya campaign process and insisted that the process would be succesful.
