Raila to hold countrywide crisis ODM strategy meetings
12 November 2014, 17:49
Nairobi - ODM leader Raila Odinga will hold countrywide strategy meetings to build on the party's popularity.
The ODM leader will start Friday this week with a set of meetings in his Nyanza background to seek solutions to problems affecting the party as well as strategize on ways to rejuvenate the party.
He will according to the party also do the same all over the country and seek to build momentum especially heading into the Okoa Kenya referendum campaign's final stages.
" This Friday 14th November 2014, the party will hold the first of these meetings in Oyugis Township in Homabay County where all party officials from Homabay, Migori, Kisumu and Siaya counties have been invited,” ODM Communications director Philip Etale said in a statement.
Odinga will lead the meetings which will seek to address problems the party is facing especially in the Okoa Kenya referendum campaign.
" The ODM Party Leader Mr Raila Odinga will attend the meeting in which party members will be briefed on the progress by the Okoa Kenya team on why there is need for constitutional amendments and reasons to support the move," Etale added.

The party will also seek to try seek solutions to problems elsewhere in the country.
" This is the first among many others our party leader will hold in various parts of the country to strengthen the party and consolidate its support at the grassroots level and appraise our members on the progress being made in the push for the referendum,".
It is understood that the meetings will aim to stem the tide that has faced the party from rebel leaders in Nyanza, Nairobi and the Coastal region.
Led by Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero and Budalangi MP Ababu Namwamba, the rebels have threatened party unity, something the ODM leader has tried his best to curb, thus far to no avail.
