Raila set for Baringo tour

Nairobi - CORD leader Raila Odinga will tour Baringo to assess the damage effected by attacks on locals by bandits.
Raila will tour Baringo Thursday to find out the cause as well as seek a solution to the attacks that have seen over 100 persons killed.
The CORD leader will hold two public meetings during his trip.
The first will be at Kabel Centre in Muchongoi and at Loitip primary school, according to a statement from ODM communications director Philip Etale.
During his trip, he will condole with families and speak with them in a bid to find the root cause of the attacks, Etale added in the statement Tuesday.
" CORD leader Raila Odinga will make a one day visit to Baringo," the statement said.
" The poor state of security in the area continues to cause tension among the locals leading to the closure of schools and markets for fear of banditry attacks, slowing down the local economy," the statement continued.
Etale blamed the government for taking little or no measures to arrest the situation in the region.
" This is despite the assurance by the government that insecurity has been curbed and life back to normalcy," he added.
Kapedo in Baringo has been the worst hit in recent times, with 4 people being killed late last week in the latest killing purge in the region.
Since last year, over 200 people have died in the region, including plenty of police officers who have been killed in the line of duty.
