Raila says Ngilu 'chief land grabber'
23 October 2014, 12:17
Nairobi - CORD leader Raila Odinga says that Lands secretary Charity Ngilu is a land grabber protecting the interests of other like minded individuals.
Raila claimed Wednesday that Ngilu, who has in the past been linked to several issues with land, has been effectively put in-charge of the land ministry to cover up ills in land allocation.
He termed the issues between the land ministry and the National Lands Commision as proof that Ngilu was protecting the interest of dark forces.
" You can see the problems ongoing between the Lands ministry and the lands commission and you ask me whether there is nothing sinister. They are issues being created by one party and we know which one it is," he insinuated.
He then went on to equate Ngilu to a wolf in sheeps clothing.
" It is like protecting sheep with a wolf. It will never happen, he added.

Raila spoke in regards to the ongoing KES 8 billion 134 acre piece of land in Karen that has allegedly been grabbed by individuals said to be in the current government.
He said that the fact there was conflicting reports from the ministry and NLC pointed to a problem in the matter.
" We cannot have one body saying one thing and another saying a different thing. That points to something, " he added.
CORD have already named the likes of Ngilu, Deputy president William Ruto and other senior politicians as some of those who are supposed land grabbers in the controversial piece of land.
The land is currently in police hands following a court order stopping its development.
