Nairobi - CORD leader Raila Odinga has visited the home of the former Gem MP Argwings Kodhek following the death of his wife.
Joanne Argwings died Tuesday at the Nairobi Hospital and was the wife of former MP Charles Argwings Kodhek who was Kenya's first Indigenous Lawyer.
He was also a former Gem MP.
Kodhek died in 1969 in what is now the current Argwings Kodhek road in Nairobi.
He is well remembered for representing Mau Mau Fighters during lawsuits fronted by the then colonial government.
" Condolences to the family of the late Hon. CMG Argwings Kodhek for the loss of (His wife) Joan Omondo Kodhek," he said on his Twitter feed.
The family had asked for a blood drive to help save the late Joanne last week, stating that they had got more than they needed from members of the public and friends.
" Turnout was massive, just massive. So many people were willing to
donate blood, we had to turn some away," the
Kodhek family tweeted Sunday.
