Raila heads to Kericho to talk Ruto, ICC

Nairobi - CORD leader Raila Odinga travels to Kericho this week where he will be keen to set the record straight regarding his association with DP William Ruto and the ongoing ICC case.
The CORD leader ill tour Kericho Friday where he will seek to explain to members of the Kalenjin Community what exactly transpired in the time leading up to Ruto's problems at the ICC.
Ruto is the bonafide Political leader of the Kalenjin Community.
" The former Prime Minister will be in Kericho County Friday to start a tour of the Rift," a statement from the CORD secretariat read in part.
The tour will also seek to win back support for Raila and the CORD coalition in the Rift Valley, which was lost prior to the 2013 elections after the CORD leader was accused of fixing Ruto at the ICC and seeking to ensure that the Mau Forest evictions, which affected the Kalenjin Community heavily, took place.
For analysts though, the tour is not likely to yield much as Ruto's support is stone cold in the region.
" Ruto's support is top notch and to change that will be hard for any leader and especially Raila. I do not see him making much ground," Joshua Kipngetich, a Political Sciences lecturer in Eldoret told News24.
" There is so much ground to make for Raila which I sadly do not see him achieving," he added.
Raila has been accused in recent times of once again plotting Ruto's sending to the ICC whilst he was Prime Minister.
