Nairobi - The CORD coalition's plans to impeach President Uhuru Kenyatta show a complete lack of ideas on the part of the opposition, Deputy President William Ruto has said.
Ruto said in Nairobi that he believes the plans to impeach Uhuru because teachers have not been paid is a show of lack of ideas in the opposition.
He said that the plan was ridiculous and laughed at suggestions it could even get off the ground.
" The plan to impeach the President is laughable and ridiculous. We all know it cannot take off," he said.
He told the opposition to look for better plans to counter the governments'.
" Trying to raise money for teachers is also a plan doomed to fail. It is ridiculous to think that it can even come up at this point in time," he added.
The opposition CORD coalition had said that it was to start a paybill number to help raise funds for teachers pay, a plan that has already been shot down by members of the ruling Jubilee coalition.
The paybill number 672672 has already been rolled out for use by Kenyans as the teachers strike continues.
