Raila consoles families of Mandera dead in mortuary visit
24 November 2014, 15:14
Nairobi - The government must do justice to the 28 Mandera dead by improving the security situation in the country, CORD leader Raila Odinga has said.
He says that the government has been lax in handling security in the country at the moment and that has thus led to the increased number of deaths of innocent Kenyans.
He was speaking at the Chiromo mortuary in Nairobi, where he went to visit families of the deceased.
" The government is too lax as concerns insecurity in the country and thus we can see the endless loss of lives of innocent Kenyans," he said.
He also asked the government to help support families of the deceased to manage funeral arrangements.

The dead were mostly teachers and public servants heading home for Christmas holidays when they met their death.
It is understood that Al Shabaab militants are behind the brutal attack.
Deputy President William Ruto has said that the government has already retaliated and killed over 100 Al Shabaab militants in Somalia in retaliation.
That claim has however been refuted by both the Al Shabaab and independent persons.
