Raila cancels Thursday ODM Homa Bay meeting
09 December 2014, 17:50
Nairobi - ODM leader Raila Odinga has cancelled a meeting that was to discuss the way forward to the upcoming Homa Bay Senatorial poll.
In a statement Tuesday, Raila said that holding the meeting was not consequential in the current state of affairs, as the party had already agreed on a way forward as regards his participation in the poll.
The meeting was set to take place Thursday to try resolve the impasse in which some persons within the party wanted Raila to run fort the vacant seat with others against it.
Raila though, said Monday that he would not vie for the seat, seeing as he is needed by the ODM party in a more senior position.
Four persons will be considered for the ODM ticket for the red Rabongo, Eng. Philip Okundi, Moses Kajwang and Silas Jakakimba.
