Protests in ODM as Raila's Homa Bay tilt causes divisions

Nairobi - There will be protests in Homa Bay as people against Prime Minister Raila Odinga's candidature for the Homa Bay Senatorial seat have their voice.
The protests are set to take place Tuesday, in opposition to the alleged plan by some members of the party to have Raila take over the seat left vacant following the death of Otieno Kajwang.
Raila has been fronted by many from Homa Bay to run for the seat and return to front-line politics but others feel he is not in the best shape to run.
And they will thus hold the demo in Homa Bay to let their feelings known.
" The demo will be held to show the displeasure with such a decision, which is cowardly and lacking in vision, James Ooko, one of the organizers of the demo said.
He insists that Raila is way bigger than a position on the Senate.
" I think that he is past that level where he can run for such seats. I think he should just take a step back and rethink his decision, if he has already made one, he added.
A number of key leaders, especially Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero are also said to be against it.
Raila has yet to state his stand on the matter and is expected to do so by the end of the week.
