Preparations made ahead of Ojode’s burial

14 June 2012, 13:36Oduor Omondi

The Nyanza Provincial security team has swiftly rolled out burial arrangements at the home of departed Ndhiwa MP Joshua Orwa Ojode.

Speaking when the security team toured Ndhiwa to pay their condolences to the late Ojode’s family, Nyanza provincial Commissioner, Mr. Francis Mutie, divulged that the team has already identified a burial site for the late assistant minister.

He restated that the burial will take place on Sunday and that preparations are ongoing amidst heightened security.

The commissioner guaranteed members of the public of maximum security prior to the material day and even after.

The late Joshua Orwa Ojode, who until his demise was the internal security assistant minister, died in a helicopter crash alongside his Minister, Prof. George Saitoti and four others on their way to Ndhiwa where they were to preside over a fundraiser in aid of a local church.

The security team was comprised of Nyanza Provincial Police Officer, Mr. John Njue Njagi, Homabay County Commissioner, Mr. Joseph Samuel Otieno and Homabay OCPD Mr. Francis Kumut among others.

The team also visited the late Ojode’s mother, mama Ulda Ojode and paid their condolences to the bereaved family.
