Nyahururu - Police in Nyandarua Central district, Nyandarua County, are investigating the killing of a retired preacher at Passenga village early Thursday.
The body of Maina Kabiru, 80, was found in his house with injuries on the head.
According to the area OCPD, Wilson Koskei, the body was found by a neighbour who had gone to wake him up after he unusually took too long to come out.
Koskei said the late preacher lived with his son in the same compound whom police said heard nothing and only knew about his father's death after the neighbour alerted him.

The OCPD said the deceased was a widower and is suspected to have been hacked to death by unknown assailants.
He said that the body had cuts on his hands, indicating that he was trying to defend himself from the attackers.
“We have not established the motive of the killers but we are investigating and pursuing the assailants,” the OCPD said.
He added, “We have found footprints at a nearby escape route and we are following up the matter.”
Kosgei appealed to anybody with information about the murder to volunteer it to the police.
The body of the deceased was taken to the JM Memorial hospital in Ol Kalou town for postmortem.
