Powerful cartels using parliament to frustrate Uhuru, claims MP

17 June 2015, 15:28 Jackson Okata

Nakuru - Powerful cartels in Nairobi are using Parliament of frustrate President Uhuru Kenyatta and his government agenda, a Jubilee MP has claimed.

Kuresoi north MP, Moses Cheboi said that Parliament, which is full of hungry and corrupt members has fallen into the hands of the powerful cartels and are playing into their gallery.

Speaking Wednesday morning in Nakuru town, Cheboi said that both the cartels and MPs feel frustrated after President Kenyatta blocked all avenues which they used to loot government coffers.

“There are so many cartels in Nairobi which are very powerful and together with their friends in Parliament, they have decided to frustrate the President and his government simply because they have been denied contracts,” he explained.

“Members of Parliament who own companies out there have failed to get kickbacks from the government as they used to and that is why they are doing what you see them doing,” said Cheboi.

Cheboi said that the Jubilee coalition should name and shame those members who are working with the cartels and expel them from the party.

“The Jubilee coalition should act and punish those people because they are known and if they are not contained they will make Jubilee's work very hard,” he said.
