With a seemingly insatiable demand for oil and gas, the world constantly needs to find new supplies. This therefore have pushed throughout the country to go to greater depths to prospect for this valuable commodity "black gold" that runs the world's economies.
From the world's from past records, countries that engage in oil prospecting does not usually benefit a lot form this commodity. This is mostly attributed to factors as greed by leaders, interference by first world countries hence culminates to unnecessary civil wars
Such wars has seen many nations go to ashes simultaneously with immeasurable blood shed. For instance countries like Iraq,Libya and southern Sudan among others have had a taste of the above mentioned tragedies
For decades Kenya has held its reputation high enough when it comes to matters concerning peace and harmonious living among the citizens. Still for several years it has fought against fuel crisis,a problem that seem halfway solved. This was after UK-based Tullow Oil company today announced that it has found oil in Kenya.
According to sources, excess of 20 metres net oil pay has been discovered but this leaves us Kenyans with a question.will this oil discovery in Kenyan soil be the source of all political and social problems experienced by oil producers?
Therefore as we try to advance further as a nation with our main drive already at hand, its high time all odds are beaten and preach peace and turn away against civil wars for better Kenya tomorrow.
