Policeman kills adulterer he found in bed with his wife

21 May 2015, 14:53 Godfrey Olukya

Kampala - A police officer based in Kampala Tuesday night killed a man he found playing sex with his wife in his own bed.

He claimed that he was infuriated by the way the woman was screaming more than she does while with him.

According to police, Francis Atlas stabbed Smith Ongom to death after catching him red handed playing sex with his wife Betty Ayo.

The deceased was a laboratory technician at St Peters secondary school Nsambya in the outskirts of Kampala. He also worked as a part time teacher in neighboring school.

According to Francis Atlas, he had received information sometimes back regarding Ongom's affair with his wife and thus decided to lay a trap to catch them.

He told police that he tricked his wife that he was going to visit a relative in northern Uganda and so would be away for some days and the trick yielded positive results.

According to neighbours, Atlas came back at midnight and found his house locked from inside but could hear noises of a couple making love.

Some neighbours saw him through their windows as he noisily knocked on the door requesting Ayo to open but she did not do so.

He broke into the house and stated fighting with Ongom, then took a knife and stabbed him several times.

Ongom attempted to flee but Atlas followed him and finished him a few meters from his house.

Police arrested Atlas and will soon be taken to court to be charged with murder.
