Police urge Kenyans to look out for Shabaab operative

Nairobi - Police have asked Kenyans to be wary of an Al Shabaab suspect they believe is to be blamed for planning a number of attacks in the El Nino period.
The Interior ministry on Thursday afternoon circulated the picture of Mohammed Kunow Yusuf, also known as Abu Ali who is said to be a dangerous Shabaab operative.
A KES 2 million bounty has been placed on his head.
It is thought that Al Shabaab leaders in Somalia sent Kunow to strengthen a cell in North Eastern Kenya known as the Mustapha Atto Network.
It is understood that the network operates from Wajir Town which is close to the border with Somalia.
Police state that Kunow has taken part in several attacks in the country.
" In 2012, Kunow was one of the main suspects behind grenade attacks that targeted businesses owned by non-locals," the statement noted.
Kenya is on high alert after reports that the Shabaab is looking for soft targets during the ongoing rains in the country.
