Police seize perfumed bhang on transit to Nairobi

Nairobi - The government crackdown on narcotics is bearing fruit after Police in Uriri sub-county in Migori seized bhang worth KES 1.5 million.
The drugs were packed in perfumed suitcases and were on the way to Homa Bay town before finally finding its way to the final destination, Nairobi.
The consignment was being ferried in two motor cycles.
Administration police officers had got a tip off from the public before laying the trap for the traffickers.
The riders were arrested after the interception. However, the owner of the drugs is still at large and police are pursuing him.
County police boss Peter Kisilu said they will not relent until the menace is curbed.
Migori County is vulnerable due to its proximity to Tanzania where the drugs originate from. It acts as access point for the traffickers.
The traffickers have in recent times devised new methods of transportation, preferably using motorcycles unlike previously where they used motor vehicles.
