Nairobi - Police are seeking suspects believed to be behind a trafficking ring which involves taking Ethiopians through the country to South Africa.
The suspect is said to be behind the trafficking of 16 Ethiopians Thursday night in Nairobi.
The Ethiopians were arrested in Huruma area in Nairobi's Eastlands by police and found without any valid documentation to be in the country.
They were heading to South Africa upon arrest.
The same suspects are said to be behind a similar plot in February in which just over 100 Ethiopians were arrested.
Starehe OCPD Bernard Nyakwaka said that they had a few people in mind that they were following.
" We have a number of leads that we are following. In the meantime, those caught will be arraigned in court to answer to charges of being in the country illegally, he told News24.
Kenya has previously been named as one of the hot-spots for human trafficking in the world, thanks in part to hosting many refugees and asylum seekers.
