Kwale - Detectives in Kwale County are following crucial leads that could lead to the arrest of a suspect believed to be behind the killing of four family members in Mwachome-Patanani area.
The four, two minors and their two grandparents were hacked to death by unknown people before setting ablaze their house on 23 September where they were burnt beyond recognition.
Kwale County police commander Kenneth Kimani told the media on Tuesday that they are following a specific person behind the matter.
“There is a specific person who is said to have committed the offence. We are tracing him and once he is arrested then we will give yoy more details," he said.
Kimani said they want to ensure justice prevails to the family of victims.
Neighbours are said to have also recorded statement with police and shed light on what they knew about the incident as investigations continue.

“All who participated in one way or the other by responding to distress calls among other things have recorded statement to help police investigating the matter,” he added.
The police commander is optimistic that they will soon get to the heart of the matter and know what exactly happened during the fateful night when the four innocently died.
Although family members blamed the attack on land dispute between their parents and neighbours, security officials said they are exploring many avenues to ensure the truth is known.
“There are a lot of things being said but we are widening our investigation to capture everything so that we can know what exactly happened,” noted Kimani.
Kwale leaders called for urgent investigation and arrest of those behind the attack.
