Police search for woman who dumped foetus at river bank

Nyandurau - Police in Nyandarua North have launched a search to apprehend a woman vanished after dumping a foetus along a river bank on Wednesday.
Confirming the incident, Nyandarua North Police boss Benjamin Onsongo said that some area residents who were fetching firewood in Ndaragwa forest, came across a dumped foetus wrapped in a green paper bag.
“The residents say they came across a green paper bag and upon looking inside they found the foetus abandoned along the river side and alerted the police in Ndaragwa," the police boss said.
The police boss said no suspect had been arrested in relation to the incident and pleaded with the residents to assist in investigations that could help them identify the woman who dumped the foetus and have her arrested.
“I urge all residents of the area to please help us with investigation to establish the identity of the suspect as well as the reasons as to why she did this," he said.
In the same County, a 40-year-old man was found dead at Gatheguri dam in Ol-Kalou town.
Njoroge Kamau, a tout with 4NTE Sacco, is said to have been found by floating in the dam by school children on Tuesday.
Police have launched investigations into the incident to ascertain the cause of his death.
