Mombasa - Mombasa County yesterday unveiled modernized county police patrol vehicles.
Speaking during the launch of the cars, Mombasa county governor Ali Hassan Joho said that the patrol cars were a fulfillment to his promise to the people of Mombasa County during his campaign where he pledged to deal with insecurity.
The six patrol cars said to have coasted KES 2.6 million shillings each are equipped with security cameras that turn up to 360 degrees and are able to view up to at least 500 meters both in the dark and day time.
The cars are also computer tracked so that they are traced wherever they patrol from the central control station while at the same time they are fixed with communication equipment for easy retrieval of information between the patrolling cars and the control station.
Joho warned criminals saying that their days were numbered.
He promised to add more cars and three ambulances next month.
