An investigation has been launched by Rongai police into the murder of a middle aged woman at lodging in Salgaa Trading Centre.
Cleaners who were on their daily normal duties bumped onto the deceased’s unidentified body at around 8.00am on Tuesday morning inside the room.
Confirming the incident, Rongai District Commissioner Joseph Motari said the woman reported to the lodge with an unidentified man last night who spent the night with the lady.
“The woman is said to have gone out to answer a call of nature at around mid night, and went back to sleep but never woke up again”, said Motari.
He further added that a according to the lodge guard, the man who had accompanied the deceased left the lodging at around 6.00n the morning and but did not return.
Initial investigations have revealed that the man who is still at large engaged in sex intercourse with the deceased.
The DC said that the lodge management had no records of the two and that police have launched investigations into the same, with the deceased body being taken to Molo District Hospital for postmortem and identification.
