Bungoma - Police in Webuye are looking for a male teacher at Matulo girl’s secondary school who allegedly caned and injured a form three student.
The teacher, who is yet to be named, fled immediately after an incident and his whereabouts are yet to be known.
The student claimed that the teacher beat her after discovering that she had not completed her mid-term agriculture continuous assessment test (CAT).
Her father, Joram Mabonga said that his daughter who suffers from sickle cell anaemia was injured during the incident and treated at Webuye sub county hospital.

“After treating her, we reported the case to Webuye police station and police have launched investigations,” said Mabonga.
The school headteacher, Joyce Mulunda said that she was informed about the incident but the teacher fled before she could inquire why he administered the corporal punishment.
“The teacher fled after the incident and being a new teacher in this school, we don’t know what made him to be released from his former school. We want him apprehended so that he can serve as example,” said Mulunda.
She advised teachers to avoid administering punishment to students and instead advise them in a parental manner.
