A man alleged to be a police imposter is nursing injuries at a Nyeri hospital after he was shot by police on Tuesday evening.
According to police reports, the suspect had been ordered to stop but tried to escape.
The ‘disciplined imposter’ was shot by police in Karatina town after his days of imposing and conning locals came to an end.
It is alleged that the man has been harassing and stealing money from college and university students during the evening hours and weekends.
He used to arrest and intimidate them that he would take them to police cells but robbed them off their valuables on way to station.
Most of them reported the matter and made complaints to Karatina police station ensuing to probe.
