Meru - A woman died on the spot in Meru after she was hit by a lorry that was allegedly being driven by a handcuffed driver Wednesday morning.
The driver, Eric Mureithi and two police officers who were on board the lorry escaped with minor injuries.
Mureithi alleges that the two police officers arrested him along the Meru-Isiolo route claiming that the truck was overloaded, before they handcuffed him and ordered him to drive to a nearby police station.
He lost control of the vehicle due to a mechanical malfunction, leading to the accident.
