Nyeri - Nyeri police have denied being implicated in the extra judicial killing of five youths found in Tagwa forest.
Nyeri town police chief, Adiel Nyange refuted claims that the accused, four men and one woman, were arrested by police since their names were not in the Occurrence Book.
The deceased’s families said the five were picked up by police officers on last week Wednesday.
They were identified as Yusuf Mwangi Mohamed and Mohamed Kaburu, both 19, Kevin Kihuru Wangui, a miraa hawker at Ruring’u shopping centre and one named as King’ori.
Their bodies were found in Tagwa Forest, Kieni East District, on Thursday by a herdsman.
The men were found laying face down with bullet wounds to the head, while the woman’s body was found dangling from a nearby tree.
Nyeri county police commander, Agnes Lihabi while defending police officers said the residents raising an accusing finger to the police should volunteer information and record statements.
