Nyeri - Police have confiscated 30 drums of a substance suspected to be methanol along the Nyeri-Makuyu highway.
The substance was nabbed when police intercepted a lorry whose driver did not have proper identification documents.
But as the officers were interrogating the driver, they stumbled upon the 30 drums packed at the back of the lorry.
Central police boss, Larry Kyeng said although the driver has already been charged in court, nobody has come out to claim the methanol.

Each of the drums had 260 litres of the substance and it is feared that it was destined to various liquor dens in the region.
The incident comes barely a week after illicit brew claimed three lives at Kiandu slums in Thika.
Kieng said police have intensified the crackdown on illicit liquor dealers.
