Police confirm 3 murders in Nairobi's Eastlands

Nairobi - A man has been killed after being subjected to mob justice for allegedly trying to rob a woman of her handbag in Buru Buru area Nairobi.
The 25 year old man who was only identified as ‘Freddy’ together with his accomplice, confronted Millicent Anyango threatening to stab her and then robbed her before she alarmed the members of the public whom caught up with one of the suspects while the other one escaped.
The suspect was lynched by the mob before police arrived at the scene.
Confirming the incident, Police Spokesperson Zipporah Mboroki said that the woman managed to recover her valuables.
She added that in another incident, the body of a young man was found lying near the Christ is the Answer Church along Jogoo road.
She said that the man whose identity had not yet been established died after excessive bleeding from a deep cut on the back of the head.
She said that the man is believed to have been killed at a different location then his body dumped near the church.
The Police Spokesperson said that a third murder incident was reported in Ruai where by a body of an elderly woman was dumped in Gathieko Estate I Ruai.
She said that the cause of the death of the woman had not yet been established since it had no visible injuries.
She added that the incident was reported by Johnstone Gitonga who is a resident of Gathieko Estate who witnessed a vehicle drop the body next to his house.
Mboroki said that the identity of the three bodies had not yet been established and that further investigations are going to be undertaken so as to establish the identity of the victims.
