Nairobi - The government has been stopped from replacing fired deputy Inspector General of Police Grace Kaindi.
Justice Nduma Nderi gave the order after Ms Kaindi filed a case to challenge her removal by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
her application, the former deputy inspector-general of police said her
removal from office and the move by the Police Service to advertise the post is
illegal and unconstitutional.
Kaindi says she is being retired unfairly and does not want to take up her new post of Ambassador of Kenya handed to her by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
She states that the move was illegal as she was moved in the midst of a 5 year contract she had earlier signed.
The President has in the meantime appointed Joel Kitili as acting DIG.
Kaindi has said she does not want to change positions and would like to serve the people of Kenya in her previous capacity.
" The actions of the NPSC are illegal and unconstitutional and should be considered as just that," she said in her application to the High Court.
