Police boss shot dead by thugs in Nairobi, gun stolen

Nairobi - A senior police officer was shot dead in Nairobi and his pistol ad rounds of ammunition stolen by unknown thugs.
Anjers Kiwanuka was shot dead in Nairobi's Njiru area Wednesday night as he walked home with his son.
His Ceska Pistol and 14 rounds of ammunition was stolen in the attack by the thugs who also made away with his mobile phone as well as other valuables.
Kiwanuka was an Administration Police officer who headed Njiru Sub County.
" He was shot in a deliberate attack, Kayole OCPD Ali Nuno told News24.
" The assailants shot in the air and as Kiwanuka pulled out his weapon, he was shot in the head and chest. He died on the spot," he explained.
" They then ransacked his body and stole his gun and other valuables," he added.
No one has yet to be arrested over the inicident even though a manhunt is underway.
Nuno also said that the thugs who shot police officer were happy with their achievement, saying that Kiwanuka had been a thorn in their flesh for a long time.
" He has been a huge problem," They said in Swahili after the shooting, Nuno revealed.
Kiwanuka was a student in Criminology at the Kenyatta University at the time of his death.
