Police ban night campaigns
15 January 2013, 15:47
Laikipia East Police boss Joshua Lutukai has warned political aspirants against campaigning at night as the party nominations approach.
Lutukai has instead urged the aspirants and residents to enhance peace and conduct their campaign meetings during daytime.
He has also warned people who are removing posters and banners of their rival parties saying that every Kenyan has a right to contest and air his or her policies in public.
“Kenyans are the ones who are going to decide whom will lead them. Such rivalry should not be condoned especially here in Laikipia East,” said Lutukai.
He said that his team is fully ready for the January 17 nominations adding that he has put in place lots of police to patrol the area.
