Nairobi - A police constable attached to Karen police station is being sought to answer to charges of child abuse.
Fredrick Otieno is believed to have committed the offence on Tuesday last week at his Matasia residence.
It is reported that Otieno brutally beat his three-year-old son for allegedly peeing in his pants.
A neighbour who noticed the boy’s injuries reported the matter to the Matasia Police Patrol Base over the weekend.
“The report was made at the Matasia Police Patrol Base that there was a child aged three years who was subjected to torture by a parent he has been residing with,” said Kajiado North OCPD, George Sedah.

He added that members of the public did a good work because it seems the child has been subjected to a lot of torture.
On examining the child, police discovered several injuries on the back, cheeks, hands and legs.
The police further consulted the children’s officer in Ngong area who directed that the child be taken to Huruma children’s Home within Olkeria area.
However, in an interview with the press, the boy’s mother, Linah Maloba said she was away when the heinous act took place. She confirmed that her husband was a police constable attached to Karen police station.
The suspect is believed to have travelled to western Kenya to attend to a relative’s funeral.
