Kampala - Two pigs that were chasing each other have disrupted prayers after they started mating inside a mosque.
The incident took place at Mayanga village in the district of Mayuge, eastern Uganda.
According to an eyewitness, Hajji Mustafa Batwawula, they were praying when the two pigs ran into the mosque.
''We got shocked when the pigs entered the mosque. Since we were in the middle of prayers, we continued praying but when the boar started mounting the sow at a corner of the mosque we decided to stop the prayers and first send them away,'' said Batwawula.
''Agastfulahi, agastafulahi!'' shouted the Muslims as they sent away the pigs. As soon as they got out of the mosque, they picked stones and sticks and hurled them at the pigs as they ran after them.
They followed them to their owners' place, beating him up before forcing him to go and scrub the floor of the mosque and also pay fine for neglecting his pigs.
The owner of the pigs, Peter Muswangali pleaded for forgiveness, paid a fine of UGX 50 000 and also agree to clean the mosque.
