The long awaited Peace Accord was finally signed in Nakuru last Sunday evening bringing to an end of 16 months of waiting process.
Speaking during the signing of the Accord, the National Cohesion and Integration Commission(NCIC) Chairman Mzalendo Kibunjia said it had been a rough journey but he was happy that the Accord was signed between the two warring communities in the region of Rift Valley.
“This process has in the past encountered a lot of stalemates from a section of people and politicians but today I am very happy that we have actually finalized it, after 20 years of wrangles between two communities” said the NCIC boss Mzalendo Kibunjia.
In a meeting which was also attended by the Chairman of Truth, Justice and Reconciliation Commission(TJRC) Bethwell Kiplagat said it was a good thing to see that Rift Valley Region residents can be able to set aside their differences for a common good of everyone and Nation.
“I am very happy to whiteness this signing of Peace Accord and most of all am very grateful to Rift Valley residents for coming together for the better good of this nation and region as well” said Bethwell.
