Pastor Ng'ang'a to spend 3 million to repair prison cells

24 August 2015, 14:06 William Korir

Nairobi - Pastor James Ng'ang'a says he will spend KES 3.5 million to repair the rotten prison cells at the Gigiri Police Station.

Ng'ang'a said Sunday at his Neno Evangelism Centre Church that the prison cells are in total disrepair and that he will ensure that the prison cells are repaired.

" They are in bad shape and I will dedicate myself to ensuring that they are repaired and put up in good shape," he stated.

Ng'ang'a spent two nights at the police station as he waited to be released on bail in his ongoing case where he is accused of causing death through dangerous driving.

" I have said before and God knows that I did no wrong and I believe he will defend me and protect me," he added.

Ng'ang'a was released on a cash bail of KES 500,000 for the alleged death of Mercy Njeri in a road accident in Limuru, where he was accused of driving dangerously.

The man injured in an accident caused by controversial preacher Pastor James Ng'ang'a and in which his wife died has also said he has forgiven him.

Martin Mbugua, whose wife Mercy Njeri died in the accident says that his conscience is now clean and that he has forgiven the pastor for the death of his wife.

" I have forgiven him. At this moment in time I have things to worry about such as how to continue with my life. On reflection, I have forgiven him and want to move on now," he said.

Mbugua was speaking to the press in Limuru over the debacle Saturday.

His wife died after Ng'ang'a's Range Rover collided with their Nissan March in Limuru. He sustained injuries but is now recovering.

On his part, Ng'ang'a  was arraigned in a Limuru court Friday to answer to charges of causing death of Mercy Njeri through dangerous driving, attempting to evade justice by bribing and also giving false information to police officers.
