Nairobi - Businesswoman Esther Passaris has been sued over a KES 50 million debt by Equity Bank.
Passaris through her firm Adopt A Light took the debt to finance operations in 2006 and the firm has failed to pay of the debt, which is accruing interest.
The debt is jointly undertaken by Passaris and co owner Philip Ransley.
Equity claims through its court papers that the two have refused to pay the debt despite being spoken to about it on several occasions and that they have refused to reply to numerous messeges to settle it.
Passaris has run into trouble on several occasions because of the firm, especially over contractual issues with the Nairobi County Council.
" The defendant never serviced the facilities and fell in arrears since April 7, 2009, Equity through Law firm Shichangi and Company Advocates says.
