Nairobi - The parliamentary Committee on Energy, Information and Communication has summoned Cabinet Secretary in charge of ICT, Fred Matiang’i and media owners over the digital migration standoff.
The meeting is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, according to a committee member, MP Kanini Kega.
Kega said the two parties are expected to shed more light on the stalemate involving digital migration and the switch off for Citizen TV, NTV, KTN and QTV.
The Kieni MP said the committee has to intervene to establish why there is an impasse between the government and the media owners.

“We want to know whether the switch off was a deliberate move or it was sabotage because currently the four TV stations are not airing any content which is contrary to terms and conditions of licensing,” he explained.
Kega made the remarks while addressing journalists Sunday at Mweiga Township in his constituency.
However, CAK switched off the stations citing non-compliance with the pre-agreed analogue-digital migration schedule.
