Panic in Ruiru as violent robberies persist

Nairobi - Police in Ruiru have opened investigations into the murder of a quality assurance officer of Nestle company shot dead in Mugutha estate on Friday.
Dominic Kiarie Kihanya was shot as he drove into his house at around 11 pm by gunmen who are said to have been camping outside his gate.
Central Region Police coordinator Larry Kiyenge said police are yet to establish the motive of the attack but confirmed that nothing was stolen from Kiarie.
Kiarie died at a Nairobi hospital where he was receiving treatment for bullet wound.
Ruiru area has lately experience a resurgence of violent robberies and murders.
Last week a student of Nairobi Institute of Business Studies (NIBS) was shot dead by gumen ona motorbike after he resisted a robbery.
