Panic in Kericho High as KNEC withholds KCSE results

Kericho - Panic engulfed students, parents and teachers of Kericho High School in Kericho after the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) withheld the KCSE results of some candidates.
The candidates and their parents were shocked as they tried to access their results via mobile to no avail while teachers remained silent on the matter.
However, area education officer, Alice Kirui allayed the fears saying the move has nothing to do with exam irregularities.
According to Kirui, KNEC withheld the results pending registration balances that had not been cleared by the school.
Speaking to the press in her office, Kirui noted that no school in the county missed their results due to exam irregularities. She further urged parents to be patient as the matter is being addressed.
“No cases of cheating or any other irregularity were reported in our sub-county and all schools got their results. The top school was Moi Tea Girls’ followed by Kipsigis Girls’ and then Kericho High School. I urge the affected candidates and their parents to remain patient as the matter is being addressed by the relevant authorities,” urged Kirui.
