Over 5 000 anti-gay protesters to strip naked for Obama

Nairobi - An anti-gay group has planned a two-day demo to condemn US President Barack Obama’s push for gay rights.
A demo notification letter written by the Kenya’s Republic Liberty Party (RLP) leader, Vincent Kidala states that the peaceful procession from Uhuru Park’s Freedom Corner in Nairobi will be held on July 22 and 23, colliding with the day Obama is expected to arrive in the country.
“The procession shall be carried out by approximately 5 000 totally naked men and women to protest against the United States of America President Barrack Obama’s open and aggressive support for homosexuality,” says Kidala in the letter.
“The party’s main objective is for him to see and understand the difference between a man and a woman,” he adds.

The party’s anti-gay protest notification comes a few days after State House confirmed that Obama will not be stopped from speaking on gay rights while in Kenya.
State House was compelled to come clear on the homosexual issue due to mounting pressure from local churches, legislators and anti-gay activists warning Obama not to touch on the controversial matter during his visit.
RLP is the only aggressive political party in the country that has openly taken its stand against homosexuality and had even drafted a petition to parliament proposing life imprisonment for suspected gays and public stoning for those caught in the act.
