Open letter to Uhuru and Ruto
03 July 2013, 12:29
Receive greetings from a dreamer of dreams; yes I am a dreamer of dreams because I hope one day I will rule this nation ...
However it is unfortunate that I may not rule Kenya since past regimes planted a seed of tribalism and corruption which make it hard for a second-hand Kenyan like me to rule as my pockets are not deep enough to accommodate 40 million plus Kenyans but as a dreamer of dreams, I keep dreaming.
Firstly, you should know I never voted for you!
I need to put myself clear here.
My reason of not voting for you was not because of the ICC cases or because of your tribes - I am too civilized to be colonized and too smart to be tribal; it was not because my candidate of choice was an Angel - in any case we don't have Angels in Kenya.
The reason I didn't vote for you was personal - one day I will tell you about it.
So when you won, I accepted and moved on.
First day, second day, third day ... I say to myself, "after all, he is a good guy."
I am sure you still are good.
What is surprising me is that VAT on the basic good is about to be introduced so that the revenues raised from it can be used to fund essential services offered by the government.
Kenyans have been complaining about the rising cost of living; I am sure you have heard about it; I thought yours was 'gava ya ma-hustler' (government of hustlers)?
What about making IG the dictator - sorry the commissioner of police who orders his juniors to kill and extort, as they languish in abject poverty?
Because now we are used to this, we will simply accept and move on!!!
Oh sorry before I forget, why don't you also tell landlords to increase rent, pharmacists to increase the cost of medicine, fuel dealers to increase the cost of fuel hence high cost of transport, high cost of clothing, high cost of books, high cost of communication - after all we can accept and move on and the government will raise more revenues!
