Nairobi - One person was killed and four others injured after a building under demolition collapsed at the Wakulima market in Nairobi.
The incident took place at the site of the demolition which was to help ease space for a road in the sprawling market just outside the Nairobi CBD.
A witness James Kamau said that the persons were trying to bring building blocks down from the top of the building when it caved in on them, killing the one person.
" They were removing blocks after demolishing from the top when the incident took place," he said.
The four were quickly rushed to the Kenyatta National Hospital in Nairobi for treatment while the body of the deceased was taken to the City Mortuary.
The incident took place just a few weeks after a building under construction collapsed just behind the Thika Road Mall in Kasarani, killing six people.
