Olekiyapi to resign next week

11 April 2012, 13:07 Steve Wambugu

Permanent Secretary of Education James Olekiyapi has said that he is going to be tendering in his resignation letter to the president Mwai Kibaki in a week’s time so as to be able to pursue his political agenda of becoming president in the next general election that is slated next year.

Speaking today in Nakuru during a meeting with teachers that was dabbed as Peace Building through Education, Olekiyapi who was among the invited guest reiterated his commitment of becoming the fourth president of Kenya adding that it was high time that this country gets a credible leader who will tackle pressing issues that are facing this country.

“After serving in various posts in the government I feel it is high time we elect a credible leader and am ready for the top job and that’s why in a week’s time I will be tendering my resignation to the President so that to be able to start my campaigns.” Said the PS for Education.

The presidential aspirant further refuted strongly against claims that have been made against him that he is not a serious contender and that he is just wasting taxpayers’ money through his campaigns.

“Most of Kenyans are thinking am just joking about my candidature but what they don’t know is that am ready and I have the support of the teachers in this race to the state house” said Olekiyapi.
