Nairobi - Ministry of Interior and Coordination Cabinet Secretary, Joseph Ole Lenku launched a public awareness security campaign Wednesday to address and improve national security.
The security campaign merged with the Rapid Results Initiative(RRI), a Government innovation adopted to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery, will assist the Ministry to realize crime reduction within the scheduled 100 days.
"I am confident that within the next 100 days, we shall all be proud of a country that is safe to live in, safe for our tourists to come to and investment destination for thousands of world investors," said Lenku.
"Guaranteeing security of the individual and property is one of the foundations of Kenya Vision 2030 and the Constitution. On the implementation of this wave of RRI, we must take cognizance of the fact that safety and security are vital enablers of the country's political, social and economic development," he added.
The campaign further seeks to address enhanced accountability in providing security services, streamline the process of issuing national identification and travel documents, promote peaceful coexistence among communities, eliminate poaching, and enlist support of citizens in combating crime.
