The newly established County Commissioner’s office will play the role of ensuring offices for various County heads of department are operational while setting in motion systems for the County Government where the Governor and Senator will be able to settle into a system that is already in place.
Principal Assistant to the Regional Commissioner for Eastern upper region within the Meru County, Nixon Kwanusu said already there are Ministries that have been established under the County system of Government including the Department of Information Services ,County Information officer,County Employment Officer, County education Director, County Labor officer, and the County County Public Works officer.
He said the major role of County Commissioner’s office will be to create awareness to the public on how the County system will work in relation to Central Government roles.
He urged members of the Public to seek opportunities that will come with the new County system in terms of investment and business .
Kwanusu advised residents and local investors to invest in real estate, rental house construction, market gardening which includes production of agricultural products that can be easily marketed owing to the increasing population of the area and the impressive rate at which Meru town is growing.
He said the main challenges of establishing the new program includes, uncertainties in deployment of officers, limitation in office space noting once new County officers start reporting to new offices, some personnel may be displaced within the system.
